It hasn't been out for about a year. It premiered at Bug the other night (well according to them anyway). Clips of the vid have been around for a while, but not the finished article.
I'm told that those skaters had loads of hideous injuries after the shoot - blistered backs, ringing ears (for several weeks after the shoot) etc. Not surprising, as the explosive of choice was primarily napalm.
Worth it though - it's a great vid. I did wonder where it was going for the first half though, but it paid off.
I think the slightly dull beginning is like eating your greens before the dessert of the explosions.
finger aside, it's a great promo.
there haven't been many great ones recently.
the generation of big whacko jacko productions and the radio head/unkle idea led films needs a renaissance.
although i do like a few of kanye wests vids.
mainly cos i is down wit d kids.
innit.
Thanks for posting those, i thouroughly enjoyed all of them. A nice reminder that the smallest gem of an idea can be brought to life with the right craft and direction.
it's great.
prefer the even earlier one where he painted out the boards and everyone looked like they were hovering.
he's seems to do his most lyrical work around skateboarding.
